asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will launch a national press campaign in the period prior to the World Cup finals in Spain to encourage good behaviour by the large numbers of supporters of the British teams involved.

I am meeting representatives of the four home country football associations soon to discuss the general problem of disturbances caused by some British football supporters abroad. Spain will be high on the agenda. Pre-publicity is one of the many aspects of this problem we shall be looking at, and I am grateful to my hon. Friend for his suggestion.
