asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what improvements have taken place in rehabilitation provided by his Department for the newly blind to allow them to improve their work prospects; and if he will make a statement.

Policy on employment rehabilitation of the handicapped, including the blind, is primarily a matter for the Department of Employment and the Manpower Services Commission. I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to him today by my hon. Friend the Minister of State, Department of Employment.
