asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the number and percentage of unemployed persons in Dundee who have exhausted their entitlement to unemployment benefit.

Because of the effects of industrial action, the latest available information relates to February 1981. There were then 3,500 unemployed claimants in the area covered by the Dundee unemployment benefit offices, including the associated office in Forfar, who had exhausted their entitlement to unemployment benefit. This was 24ยท9 per cent. of the total number of unemployed claimants in that area.
