Riding Horses

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he has any estimate available of (a) the loss of revenue as a result of classifying riding horses as agricultural animals and (b) the increase in revenue as a result of increased ownership of riding horses classified as agricultural animals.

Riding horses would not normally be classified as agricultural animals. Stud farmers are able to claim stock relief on the value of horses held as trading stock but no estimates are available of the amount of relief claimed.
