asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) how many applications under schedule 1, part 1, paragraph 5 to the Housing Act 1980 (a) are awaiting determination, (b) have been excluded from the right to buy under this paragraph and (c) have been approved for sale after determination under this paragraph;(2) how many applications there have been to his Department by public sector landlords under schedule 1, part 1, paragraph 5, to the Housing Act 1980 to determine whether the right to buy can be exercised.

As at 24 March the Department had received 1,686 applications from landlords under this provision. The breakdown is as follows:
