asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the annual cost, in constant price terms, of running the Serpentine lido for each year since 1970.

The cost at outturn prices, net of revenue, of running the Serpentine lido for the years of which these figures are readily available was:

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Brent, East on 29 March, Official Report, c. 40, what options he is considering for the future of the Serpentine lido.

The options embrace retention of the lido but with reduced facilities; total or partial closure but recognising special arrangements for the Serpentine swimming club; and prohibition of swimming.
