asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the percentage of Northern Ireland students attending universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in Great Britain; and what are the numbers involved.

Records are not available of Northern Ireland students attending educational institutions in Great Britain. However, the latest information for 1979–80 shows 3,786 scholarships and awards to students attending higher and further education institutions in Great Britain. This represented 22·9 per cent. of the total scholarships and awards in that year.
