asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is satisfied with the opportunities for an injured person to make representations in Scottish courts in favour of an award of compensation being included as a condition of any probation order.

Yes, I am satisfied with the present procedure whereby the procurator fiscal is responsible for raising the question of compensation and conveying details of any injury, loss or damage sustained by a victim to the court in all appropriate cases.
