asked the Prime Minister what have been the total costs of running the Central Policy Review Staff in each year since 1977.

Information on actual costs is not readily available separately but estimates at 1980 prices were contained in the answers given to my hon. Friend the Member for Melton (Mr. Latham) on 21 July 1982—[Vol. 28, c. 163]—and 31 March 1981—[Vol. 21, c. 59–60.] The first of these gives the estimated total annual costs—inclusive of overheads—arising from the number of staff in post at 31 March 1982. The second gives the corresponding information for 1979, 1980 and 1981, and also for earlier years.

asked the Prime Minister if she will list the reports published by the Central Policy Review Staff during the past three years.
