asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the average price received by local authorities for council houses sold to sitting tenants in the latest period for which figures are available.

The average price in sales, both voluntary and under right-to-buy provisions, by English local authorities to sitting tenants was £9,600, after discount, in April to June 1982.
