asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has decided on the future level of council house rents; when the decision was taken; when the announcement will be made; and for what reason there has been delay between taking the decision and making the announcement.

Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to make an announcement indicating the level of local authority rent increases for 1983–84; and what is the average increase proposed.
