asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the price currently being charged for school meals in each local education authority, together with the comparable figure for 1981.

The information will not be available until after the next school meals census in Scotland in January 1983.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in theOfficial Reportthose local authorities which, in the current school term, provide free school meals(a)only for children from families in receipt of family income supplement or supplementary benefit(b)only for children who qualify under the former income eligibility limits and(c)only for children who fall in between these two tests, indicating in which cases and in what way any of these categories has been changed since September 1981.

The information requested is not available at present. Details of entitlement to free school meals will be requested in the next annual school meals census in January 1983.
