asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether tenders were invited by the Property Services Agency, acting on behalf of Westminster city council, for the work of erecting the Christmas tree, presented by the Norwegian people, in Trafalgar Square; what were the highest and lowest tenders, respectively; and how these compared with the estimate made by the agency of the cost of doing this work itself.

Tenders have not yet been invited for this work. Tender documents are being prepared and we expect to invite tenders shortly.
