asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether the Minister for Industry and Information Technology during his recent visit to the United States of America obtained any indication of opportunities for British firms to bid for work on NASA's space station programme.

The participation of United Kingdom firms in the NASA space station programme was not a specific item for discussion during my recent visit to the United States but there was an obvious readiness on the part of United States companies to work with United Kingdom industry.
