Leeds Prison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the purpose-built education block in Her Majesty's prison, Leeds was completed; and for what purposes it is now being used.

Work on the building was completed in February this year, but staff shortages and difficulties in agreeing appropriate manning levels have until now prevented it from being taken into use. The latter difficulty has now been resolved and evening classes will take place in the building from 22 November onwards.
