Fuel Standing Charges

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will publish in the Official Report the organisations which have written to him concerning increases in standing charges for gas and electricity.

The following organisations have written to my Department about increases in gas and electricity standing charges this year, in addition to the contacts I have had with the industries and their consumer councils:

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what are the total amounts raised by standing charges for (a) gas and (b) electricity in each of the last three financial years.

I am asking the chairmen of the British Gas Corporation and the Electricity Council to write to the hon. Member.
