asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether any limitation or control of the fire on board HMS "Sheffield" was possible as a result of the lessons learned from the fire in HMS "Glasgow" in 1976.

The fire on board HMS "Glasgow" occurred during her construction and was attributable mainly to equipment and materials which would not have been on board the ship once in service.
