asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what facilities or assistance were or have been offered by Her Majesty's Government to Gaston Thorn, the Commissioner of the European Economic Community, to visit and address meetings in the United Kingdom relating to the membership by the United Kingdom of the European Economic Community; and what costs to public funds are likely to be involved.

VIP arrival and departure facilities at London Heathrow airport were according to M. Thorn for his visit on 24–25 November, as is normal practice for visiting foreign dignitaries. The cost to public funds is estimated at about £143.
