asked the Secretary of State for Industry to what extent, over the past five years, European Coal and Steel Community funds have been used to supplement redundancy payments paid by the British Steel Corporation.

ECSC funds totalling £100 million have been allocated to provide readaptation benefits to redundant BSC steel workers over the five years 1 January 1978 to 31 December 1982.
