asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects to receive the Monopolies and Mergers Commission report on Caledonian MacBrayne and if he will make a statement.
Mr. Younger
The Monopolies and Mergers Commission is due to report to my right hon. Friend by 23 December. I shall receive a copy of the report at the same time.

Mr. Dewar
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will meet the chairman of Caledonian MacBrayne to discuss the provision of island ferry services.
Mr. Allan Stewart
My right hon. Friend and I meet the chairman of Caledonian MacBrayne from time to time and are always willing to do so when the need arises. We have no plans for a meeting at present.
