asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer by how much public spending other than social security and loans to nationalised industries is currently below the plans of the Labour Government.

The last White Paper of the Labour Government, Cmnd. 7439, was expressed in 1978 survey prices whereas public expenditure is now expressed in cash. Information is not available for a comparison at programme level but a comparison of planning totals will be published very shortly in the 1983 public expenditure White Paper.
