asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish a table showing the number of occasions on which bottled water was issued by water authorities for children because of high nitrate levels in public water supplies; and if he will make a statement.

I am aware of only one case in the last five years. At Kirby Hill and Baldersby, near Boroughbridge, in North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire water authority regularly supply at any one time about 20 nursing mothers with bottled water. However, the two borehole sources in question will soon be phased out.
