asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on recent discussions at the Foreign Affairs Council regarding the integrated Mediterranean programmes.

The January Foreign Affairs Council held an informal exchange of views on integrated Mediterranean programmes, during which the President of the Commission outlined his ideas on how the issue should be resolved. The Council is now waiting for a new formal proposal from the Commission.
