asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many visits abroad he has undertaken in 1984 and 1985 concerning the industrial development of Wales; and if he will make a statement.

During 1984 I visited the far east (Japan, Korea) once and the United States of America once, to promote inward investment to Wales.The economic climate for inward investment to Wales is better than ever but we face growing competition for internationally mobile projects. Over the last few years Wales has been very successful in attracting such projects from a diverse group of industries and countries, and I am determined to maintain this momentum in future.
