asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he has made any representations about the implications for the Northern Ireland fishing industry arising from Spain's application for accession to the Treaty of Rome; to whom these representations were made; and if he will make a statement.

Representatives of the Northern Ireland fishing industry are being kept informed of the progress of negotiations.
