asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the representations that the Welsh Office has made at all levels to better the air traffic movements at Cardiff, Rhoose airport and to increase the availability of scheduled services using the airport on a domestic and international scale.

The Government's recent approval of a capital expenditure allocation for the lengthening of the runway is a clear demonstration of our commitment to the development of the airport. My Department and I take every opportunity to emphasise the importance of the airport for economic development and tourism in the Principality.
