asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the Government's policy with regard to the summoning of ambassadors and in particular how this is applied with regard to (a) Israel and (b) South Africa.

Ambassadors and high commissioners are asked to call at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office whenever this is judged useful.
