Civil Service (Graduates)

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the starting level of pay for a graduate entering the Civil Service as an (a) administrative trainee and (b) executive officer.

Executive officers enter the first three points of the scale shown below according to age:

Administration trainees normally enter at the minimum of the scale following, but on the recommendation of the selection board those with relevant experience or qualifications above the minimum required may enter at any higher point on the scale.
