asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what information he has as to the number of people in the county of Cheshire who are in receipt of family income supplement whilst in full-time employment in the Civil Service; and what Departments they are at present employed in.

I regret that the information is not available. Family income supplement claims are dealt with by one centre at Blackpool; no information is maintained about claims from particular local areas and civil servants are included for statistical purposes in a broad occupational group which includes clerical and office workers, administrators, social, professional and technical workers.
