asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on Government policy regarding arms sales to Indonesia.
Mr. Lee
It has always been, and will remain, the Government's policy to exercise strict control over the sale of arms. Each potential sale is considered on its merits on a case by case basis. Any proposals to sell defence equipment to Indonesia, as with any other country, are subject to detailed examination before an export licence is granted.
