asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the average remuneration per day worked for (a) a teacher, (b) a police officer, (c) a nurse, (d) a social worker, (e) a non-manual worker and (f) a manual worker for the average of each category at the latest date for which figures are available in each case.

Information on the average remuneration per day worked is not available. Estimates of average weekly earnings giving details of occupation for full-time employees for April 1984 are published in table X3 of the "New Earnings Survey 1984", part B. A copy of the report is available in the Library.
