Banks asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will provide figures for the number of pensioners who have each received state earnings-related pensions in (a) Brighton area and (b) Newham for each year since 1979; how many on present trends would be expected to benefit from the scheme for each year until the year 2000; and if he will estimate how much on average each beneficiary would expect to obtain from the scheme in additional weekly payments to the year 2000.

Information about retirement pensions can be obtained for Great Britain or for England, Scotland and Wales separately but not for smaller areas of the country.
