The average amount of notional additional component — before deduction of any guaranteed minimum pension — was £2·85 per week. The comparable figures for widows in receipt of widowed mother's allowance were 39,250 and £3·21 per week, giving a total of 116,550 recipients of widows' benefit receiving additional component averaging £2·97 per week.
