Our social services inspectorate seeks to stimulate an awareness in local social services authorities of the special needs of ethnic minority groups During May 1985 a copy was sent to each social services department of a report "Triple Jeopardy growing old in a second homeland", which had been commissioned from the Centre for Policy and Ageing by our Department Our centrally funded initiative, "Helping the Community to Care", includes a number of schemes designed to provide knowledge and guidance for voluntary organisations on ways of meeting the needs of elderlv members of the ethnic minority communities
