asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) what was the annual cost of the inspection carried out by his officials at the Leicester forest east service station on the Ml motorway from May 1979 to 1985;(2) what was the annual cost of the inspection carried out by his officials at the Toddington service station on the Ml motorway from May 1979 to 1985;(3) what was the annual cost of the inspection carried out by his officials at the Trowell service station on the Ml motorway from May 1979 to 1985.

The information is not available. Each inspection of a service area takes about a half-day and the cost, including overheads, is approximately £55 excluding travel.
