asked the Attorney-General what changes have been made to the cash limit on class XIII, vote 13, (Public Record Office).

The cash limit on class XIII, vote 13 (Public Record Office) has been reduced by £334,000 from £10,821,000 to £10,487,000.The reduction takes account of £334,000 transferred to class XIV, vote 1 (Property Services Agency) and reflected in the Main Estimate, to provide funds towards modifications and improvements to the air-conditioning system at the Public Record Office, Kew, as recommended by the independent review commissioned following the closure of the building last year. A copy of the report on the review was placed in the Library on 27 March.The reduction will have no effect on the total of public expenditure.
