major facilities and specialist pieces of equipment for which grant aid was paid to the Lear Fan Company at the Newtownabbey factory.

Under the various agreements, Lear Fan Ltd. claimed, and the Government provided, about £3·6 million of grant assistance towards the purchase of equipment and modifications to facilities at Newtownabbey.The Lear Fan factories at Newtownabbey are owned by the Government. The various specialist pieces of equipment which were grant-aided form part of the company's assets over which the Government has a charge. The value of these assets will be assessed in due course by the receiver.
