Partition Acts

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he anticipates introducing legislation to repeal the Partition Acts of 1868 and 1876 in relation to Northern Ireland.

These Acts are currently under examination by the Land Law Working Group, which is preparing wide-ranging recommendations for the reform of land law in Northern Ireland. The working group is preparing its final report, and when this is received the nature of the legislation required in respect of co-ownership and other issues will be considered.
