asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people under the age of 30 years are in receipt of supplementary benefit in the Slough travel-to-work area.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people in Slough have been in receipt of (a) housing benefit, (b) sickness benefit, (c) invalidity benefit and (d) family income supplement for each of the last three years.

I regret that information relating to sickness benefit, invalidity benefit and family income supplement is not available for the Slough area. Information based on Slough borough council's housing benefit subsidy claims indicates that the number of rate rebate recipients are as follows:

Number
1983–8410,800
1984–8511,200
1985–869,850
