asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many interviews have been conducted by staff in the embassy in Chile with people wishing to seek refuge in the United Kingdom.

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many prison or detention centre visits have been made by' embassy staff in Chile in the past two years; and how many prisoners were interviewed during those visits.

In the last two years only one British citizen has been in detention in Chile. He was arrested in October 1983 and has been visited six times since his arrest.

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will place in the Library a copy of the paper of the South American department of his Department dated 19 November 1984, referring to an arms embargo against Chile.
