The retail prices index rose by 6ยท9 per cent. in the year to April 1985, and 7 per cent. in the year to May. The rise in the year to June is also likely to be about 7 per cent.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the figures for inflation and M3 since 1979 on a monthly basis.
