asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many telephones were provided for disabled people by local authorities in 1970–71, and in the latest year for which figures are available.
Mr. Newton
The earliest and latest available data on assistance given by local authorities with respect to the provision of telephones are given in the table. The figures include provision for elderly as well as disabled people.
