Mr. Peter Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much was spent on office furniture for the Upper Galwally office of the Local Enterprise Development Unit; who were the manufacturers of this furniture; and what was the country of origin.

Dr. Boyson

The total value of the contract for the supply of office furniture was £30,000. The suppliers were as follows in descending order of contract size:

  • 1. Hille Furniture—Manufactured in England
  • 2. Scandia Furniture—Manufactured in Denmark*
  • 3. Seid Seating—Manufactured in Denmark*
  • 4. Tract Seating—Manufactured in England*
  • 5. Casual Seating—Manufactured in Northern Ireland*
