asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is satisfied with the progress to date in his Department's efforts to promote the cause of a United Kingdom location for the proposed European Community Trade Mark Office.

Yes. Our Community partners and the European Commission have been made well aware that it is the Government's firm desire that the office should be located in london. The Government expect to recommend a particular site to the Commission later this year.
