asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many students will have completed courses of further education in tourism-related subjects, at the end of the current term.

It is not possible to answer my hon. Friend's question without a definition of which subjects should be included. Many subject areas such as Hotel and Catering or Languages can be thought of as "tourism-related. In November 1983, the latest year for which information is available, there were 613 students on the final year of a further education course in England, studying for qualifications specifically in Tourism or Travel Agency.
