asked the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts what progress has been made in the discussions between the Minister for the Arts and the chairman of the trustees of the Tate Gallery regarding the difference of interpretation over the indemnity insurance provisions for exhibitions on loan from national collections; and whether the Minister has received any assurances that the Tate Gallery will permit the Kessler collection to be exhibited in Leicester shortly.

My noble Friend the Minister for the Arts is consulting the chairman of the trustees of the Tate Gallery on this matter. He hopes that it will swiftly be resolved.
