asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he intends to give assistance to the Royal College of General Practitioners in determining proposals to improve the quality of family doctors' services.

We welcome the Royal College's constructive contribution to public discussion about the future arrangements for general practice. I am meeting representatives of the Royal College to discuss their ideas tomorrow.
