(b) Twenty-nine private sector houses and flats were sold during this period on a basis which included an element of subsidy or financial assistance from the development corporation. All 29 were in Cumbernauld, nine sold in 1984–85 and 20 sold in 1985–86 to date. The aggregate notional amount of the assistance was £9,796 and £21,366 respectively. This was in the context of a joint venture with private builders where the development corporation sold the land at historic cost, rather than on the basis of current market value.
