asked the Secretary of State for Social Services on what basis he selects the officials to brief him on particular topics; whether there are any civil servants specifically and personally debarred from briefing him on any matter; and if he will make a statement.

Meetings, whether for briefing or any other purpose, are held with those officials most appropriate to the meeting's purpose. There are no other considerations.
