Mr. D. E. Thomas
asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the circumstances of the incident on the evening of 19 July at Stoke Hill, near Imber firing range, in which a civilian vehicle was hit by a Landrover of the Royal Greenjackets while on a public road.
Mr. Lee
I am not aware of any such incident on 19 July but a minor accident did occur at Stoke Hill on 18 July on a road passing through Ministry of Defence property. A military landrover, which was taking part in an exercise on the Salisbury plain training area was struck, while stationary, by a civilian car. No-one was injured and the resultant damage to both vehicles was assessed as slight.
